Methavitukkadhanaswamy Iyer Ulagagurunathan Iyer Annadhana Matham
Annadhanakanthan (Selvachannidhi Murugaperuman) is a temple that has been a holy place for centuries, providing relief from the daily sufferings of humanity and also relieving us from the hunger pangs we face every day.
The worshippers of Annadhanakanthan are the priests who follow the lineage of Marudhar Kadirgamar. Along with the worship, they also carry out the eternal work of offering food to the devotees in the temple.
It is noteworthy that the first person to start and implement the practice of offering nectar to devotees after the completion of the puja at the shrine was the father of Amarar Ulagagurunathan Iyer, Mettha Veetukandasamy Iyer, around 1915.
Thus, he was the chief priest at the Sri Selva Channidhi temple and carried out the puja rituals. In 1998, he first started and implemented the annadana service at the temple so that all the devotees could be fully fed. It was Shivasri Ulagagurunathan Iyer who carried out the anadana service in a manner that was appreciated by everyone and who recently passed away.
Ulagagurunathan Iyer was a close supporter of his work and his wife Pushparani.
We are carrying forward the annadana service and spiritual work left behind by Amarar Ulagagurunathan Iyer with the grace of Lord Muruga.
